Doggie Love

Doggie Love

I recently started walking doggies for the humane society, and let me tell you—it's been absolutely amazing! They have this incredible program where you can take a dog out for the day and bring them back. It's called the "Hiking" Program, and I'm completely hooked.

Growing up, I always had dogs in my life, so there's definitely a special place in my heart for them. I heard about this program a month ago but kept putting it off because of some wrist injuries I was recovering from. I was worried that walking a strong puller might set back my healing. But you know what? I finally decided to go for it, and my wrist held up perfectly! I'm so stoked about that win.

What really gets me is how this experience has shifted my mindset. Instead of letting fear hold me back, I'm leaning into love and action—and it feels incredible. I'm planning to get out there most days of the week now.

Here's the coolest part: the humane society has access to this massive network of trails and land with miles and miles of space for these pups to explore. People show up for all kinds of reasons—some want to run with a dog, others want to take one out for a full adventure. The energy is just beautiful. You can feel how genuinely passionate and caring everyone is about these animals.

Oh, and because it was scorching hot the other day, I brought a whole case of water for the doggies to stay hydrated on their adventures. Taking care of them while they're out there is part of the joy.

If you've got a soft spot for animals and want to make a real difference while getting some amazing outdoor time in, I'd seriously recommend checking out a program like this in your area. It's good for your body, good for your soul, and really good for the dogs.
